1. What's your worst food memory? How about one of your best?
Image |
Worst food memory - can't think of one, or perhaps my brain refuses to remember such events. My best food memories always involve Thanksgiving and Christmas: family together sharing, celebrating, and making memories.
2. Do you appreciate people telling it like it is, or would you rather a speaker temper his/her words and maybe beat around the bush a little? How about when you're the one communicating...which type are you?
I appreciate people telling it like it is, most of the time, as long as it is done in love. Tap dancing around before getting to the point is wearying. I tend to be a tell it like it is person, I think. But I believe I can work on softening my approach - be direct, but be gentle.
3. What's your favorite place to hang out?
I am boring. My favorite hang out place is my home, particularly our back balcony in the summer. Other favorite hangouts are the library and my local yarn store. See? Told you I was boring - but happy!
4. When do you most feel like you're a slave to time?
I feel most like a slave to time when I am over committed and rushing to try and get everything accomplished.
5. What was the last concert you attended? Who'd you go with? Was it any good?
I end up attending many concerts because my son has been in a band, youth orchestra, and is now a music major in college. I think the last concert I attended was a composer's forum at my son's university in April. It was enjoyable despite the fact that we were late. I'm delighted to say my husband, daughter, son-in-law, and two sons were all on hand to hear our youngest perform.
6. Reality TV...harmful or harmless? What's your guilty pleasure when it comes to reality TV?
I've never gotten into reality TV, so don't think I have the right to make a judgment.
7. What's something you think is overrated?
Professional sports.
8. Insert your own random thought here.
This always feels like a sad time of the year to me. Everyone returning to school, the sun setting sooner every evening, and leaves lazily drifing down in the breeze. I find spring and summer invigorating, but autumn and winter rather melancholy. I'd better make the most of the summer that's left!
I loved this, Elizabeth! I agree with almost all your answers, but the heat gets to me and makes me hurt more so I actually find Autumn invigorating. I am always ready for a break in the heat and this summer we even got one in August!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing.
What a lovely surprise to see your smiling face here! So glad you visited.
DeleteI am sorry you've been experiencing so much pain. I will remember to pray for you.
Both of my daughters played music all through school so I went to many, many band and orchestra concerts. It was a joy! Such wonderful times!
ReplyDeleteIt is a joy. I have gained an appreciation for classical music I never had before.
DeleteIf you're boring, then I'm boring too .Love me some family room and quilt shops to hang out in.
ReplyDeleteThrilled to meet another "boring" person.
DeleteI'm trying to eke out a little more summer too. We'll be boating on Labor Day, and I feel like that will help. It's been a busy, rainy, busy summer, so in a sense hasn't felt all that summery to me. I always love fall, my favorite season, but I'm not quite ready for it yet.
ReplyDeleteI am amazed how many people consider fall their favorite season. We summer lovers are far outnumbered, I'm afraid.
DeleteWorst food experience for me: Airline headcheese on Air France. We didn't eat it of course, but the image and smell was enough to make me gag, as does the memory, and it was 31 years ago. lol
ReplyDeleteJojo, this sounds so disgusting that I don't even want to think about it.
DeleteI am with you - my favorite place is HOME! And I LOVE fall - yes it is a time of death - but it is a time for me to think renewal - new school year - fresh start - cooler weather - etc! Have a good day!
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting Sandie. If I lived as far south as you do, autumn would probably be my favorite season too!
DeleteHi Elizabeth! If I had a back porch, I'd be on it all the time. I have a three-season room which I love. I can totally understand your love for home.
ReplyDeleteMy worst food experience was raw tuna. I ate it to be polite, and it was GROSS!
Happy weekend, my friend!
Ceil
A three season room sounds wonderful. My dream house would have one.
DeleteRaw fish of any kind makes me feel squeamish. The only type of sushi I'll eat is the kind with veggies in it.
Thanks for visiting Denise.
